PLUMBING IN SIPS:
Because properly installed SIPs are sealed so tight, a leak in plumbing installed in SIP walls may not be detectable for a long time. Please ask us if you would like ideas for other plumbing options.

Top 5 FAQs: Question #3

Q: How do you run plumbing in SIPs?

A: Good construction practice with traditional stick framing is to keep plumbing out of exterior walls. This is the same with SIPs. Plumbing should be ran through interior wood framed walls. If plumbing needs to be run through an exterior wall, stick frame a narrow section, run the plumbing, and then insulate around the plumbing (such as with spray foam).
