Q: If SIPs are superior to conventional (stick) framing, why aren’t they more widely used?

A: We've wondered the same thing. Even though structural insulated panels are more and more widely used, there are still many builders and design professionals who do not know their advantages and may not feel comfortable using them until they know more. Homeowners often do not know about SIPs or that they are even available. We are trying to address these issues by educating design professionals, builders, and homeowners.

Even though SIPs are not more widely used, a good indication that they are a quality product and easy to build with is that reputable builders we have encountered who use SIPs once or twice usually stay with them faithfully - they are an excellent product, faster and easier to build with, and environmentally responsible providing the homeowner with long-term heating and cooling savings.
