Our History & Mission 

PSI was founded by a professional engineer who had worked designing with SIPs for years.  Even though they were all-around a superior product when compared to conventional stick framing and batt insulation, he found that many people who were enthusiastic to use SIPs changed their minds.  There became a clear pattern of home and project owners believing in SIPs, and then contacting him later to have him change the project engineering to stick framing.

Looking closer at what was going on, it became clear the problem wasn’t with the product but the dealers and distribution network.  While some dealers were reputable, unethical behavior and price gouging ran rampant.

In response to this situation, Panel Source, Inc. was founded in attempt to promote the use of SIPs in residential and commercial construction.  While structural insulated panels are not new products, most homeowners, contractors, and many design professionals are not aware of them or have many unanswered questions.

It is the mission of Panel Source, Inc. to promote the use of structural insulated panels throughout the Western US (especially the Pacific Northwest) through education and training for home owners, project owners, contractors, design professionals, and building departments.  We strive to set the standard of ethical business practices that promote the long-term health of sustainable building practices with SIPs as a central structural component.
